MARKETING
Below are a few of the arenas where I honed my marketing and project management skills.
VETMED
Communication Assistant
My experience as Marketing Intern and eventually Communication Assistant at The Ohio State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, shaped my perception of what it means to be a professional writer and also gave me an inside look at how daily and weekly assignments develop into long-term marketing strategies.
Under the tutelage of the Marketing and Communication Director I wrote, edited, and proofread: newsletters, brochures, web content, and news releases. I also conducted research and interviews, maintained a comprehensive media catalog and collected archives for use in an Annual Report and Year in Review.
GARDENS ALIVE
Writer/ Editor/ Project Manager
At Gardens Alive I was brought on to be a writer, but after proving my abilities early on my role changed into that of Project Manager where much of my duties were editing and proofreading.
The deliverables I focused on were catalogs, brochures, direct mailers and web marketing materials. I was also responsible for facilitating and coordinating the efforts of the creative team throughout direct marketing campaigns to ensure my projects met deadline.
AHA
Writer/ Proofreader
What can I say about AHA!?
What better way to foster growth in a writer than by being surrounding with some of the most talented thinkers and writers in the area? Being a part of the AHA team was the realization of a lifelong dream. I learned a tremendous deal about the creative process, and that a limited character count is a muse not hand-cuffs.
