Implementing Inbound Marketing and Content Marketing Certifications in My Personal Adventures.
Since writing last, I have completed certification courses for Inbound Marketing and Content Marketing via HubSpot.com. I got some nice new badges on my LinkedIn profile, added value to my resume, and they have also given me some insight on how I can improve my practices as it pertains to my blogs, my website and my job hunt.
Here are some interesting instances that have been influenced by the certification process starting with my blog:
Blogging upgrades
Layout: For starters, I reformatted my food blog. I began by editing the existing copy and added more photos where available. Next, I took a hard look at how the information was being presented and decided that a few tweaks were needed to bolster engagement and encourage readers to return.
Content is King: I've dedicated myself to writing more frequently on each blog. This process has involved a lot of behind the scenes organization inncluding creating a content calendar as well as brainstorming ideas and building outlines and themes for future posts.
Promotion: Having the layout and content in a better place, has given me the confidence to share my posts publicly on Google+ and also via my Facebook network. The result has been increased traffic to the posts and also some reader engagement - both encouraging.
Applying the foundations of what I learned in these certifications has cemented them into my daily practices and seeing immediate results has proven that the time I spent has been well invested.
